Government has approved Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP) as a Centrally Sponsored Scheme on 15th February,2023 for comprehensive development of the select villages in 46 blocks in 19 districts of abutting northern border in the States of Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Uttarakhand and UT of Ladakh.
The programme envisages focused areas of interventions in the select villages for creation of opportunities for livelihood generation through promotion of tourism & cultural heritage, skill development & entrepreneurship and development of cooperative societies including agriculture/horticulture, cultivation of medicinal plants/herbs etc. the interventions also include providing road connectivity to unconnected villages, housing & village infrastructures, energy including renewable energy, television & telecom connectivity.
The objective of the programme is to create sufficient incentives for people to stay on in the selected villages.
In all the census villages/towns, semi urban and urban areas located with 0-10 kms. distance (aerial distance) from the first habitation at International Boundary (IB) in 16 States & 2 UTs abutting land borders, works/projects for identified gaps in essential infrastructure pertaining to road & bridges, health, Education, agriculture, sports, drinking water & sanitation, Anganwadi, community centre, small scale industries etc. have been approved under the Border Area Development Programme (BADP).
Select villages in blocks abutting northern border in Kinnaur and Lahul & Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh have been covered under VVP.

Along with ‘The Prisons Act, 1894’, ‘The Prisoners Act, 1900’ and ‘The Transfer of Prisoners Act, 1950’ have also been reviewed by the MHA and relevant provisions of these Acts have been assimilated in the ‘Model Prisons Act, 2023’.
‘Model Prisons Act, 2023’ aims at reforming prison management and ensuring the transformation of inmates into law-abiding citizens and their rehabilitation in society.
The new Prisons Act will lay more emphasis on the safety of women & transgender prisoners and bring about transparency in prison management and provide for the correction and rehabilitation of prisoners.
This bill is completely constitutional and has been brought only for the welfare of the people of Delhi, there is no political objective of the central government.
The purpose of the bill is to ensure corruption-free and people-oriented governance in Delhi, not a single provision of the bill will change the existing system.
The problem is that Delhi Government want to enjoy the rights of the state after contesting the elections for UT, the solution to this problem is that they have to change their mindset.

The Government of India has notified a New Central Sector Scheme for Industrial Development of UT of J&K in 2021 with an outlay of Rs.28, 400 crore to boost industrial development. During F.Y. 2022-23, an investment of Rs. 2153.45 crore has been realized in the industrial sector. In the current financial year 2023-24 an investment of Rs. 2326.65 crore has been realized upto Nov. 2023.

Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) organized a National Conclave today on Enabling 2 Crore ‘LAKHPATIDIDIs’- SHG Didis who earn sustainable income of at least Rs one Lakh per annum per Household.
The dedicated Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, from the International Boundary till the Dera Baba Nanak in Pakistan is in operation with modern facilities for pilgrims. A total of 88807 pilgrims have undertaken pilgrimage in this year.
As part of treaty between India and Pakistan, pilgrimage has been allowed to Sikh religious sites (covering 10 gurudwaras) in Pakistan. With close coordination with State Governments and Ministry of External Affairs, the Government has facilitated visit of 4117 pilgrims in this year.
The Mission in its endeavour to empower the SHG women, have made concerted efforts in collectivization of women, strengthening their federations, capacitating them with knowledge and skills for livelihood intervention, financing and credit support etc. for the livelihood augmentation of the SHG women.
The Mission seeks to achieve its objective through investing in four core components viz., (a) social mobilization and promotion and strengthening of self-managed and financially sustainable community institutions of the rural poor; (b) financial inclusion of the rural poor; (c) sustainable livelihoods; and (d) social inclusion, social development and convergence.
Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana- National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM) Geographical Coverage: The Mission has covered 7091 blocks spread over 742 districts across all States and UTs (except Delhi and Chandigarh) under the intensive strategy.
Social Mobilization/Institution Building: 9.54 crore women have been mobilized into 87.39 lakh Self-Help Groups (SHGs).
Social Capital: Community driven approach is the central to the Mission’s implementation strategy. Nearly 4 lakh Community Resource Persons have been trained in multiple interventions.
Capitalization Support: Cumulatively, about Rs. 33,497.62 Crore has been provided as community investment support under the Mission.
SHG-Bank Linkage: Nearly Rs 6.96 lakh crore of bank credit has been accessed by the SHGs since 2013-14. The NPA at 1.88% is a result of the efforts undertaken at various levels of the Mission.
SHG members as Business Correspondent Agents (BCAs): In order to provide last mile delivery of financial services, more than 1,00,000 SHG members have been identified and trained as Business Correspondent Agents/ Digipay points. At present, 1.07 lakh Banking Correspondents Sakhi/Digipay Sakhi have been deployed.
Livelihoods: DAY-NRLM promotes sustainable agriculture, livestock and NTFPs in intensive blocks under the Farm interventions. The focus of the interventions is on training and capacity building, and promotion of agro-ecological practices as well as livestock practices to enhance crop and animal productivity. As of August 23, 3.02 crore women farmers have been covered under these interventions.
Under the Non-Farm strategy, DAY-NRLM works on Start Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) that aims to support entrepreneurs in rural areas to set up local enterprises. Implemented since 2016-17, nearly 2.45 lakh enterprises have been supported under SVEP thus far.
Custom Hiring Centers / Tool Banks: About 28623 Custom Hiring Centre/ Community Managed Tool Bank have been set up across multiple States. These CHCs enable small and marginal famers provided access to farm equipment and other services at a nominal rate.
