Hello everyone, The CEDRIC (computer laboratory of the CNAM) is currently looking for a trainee at M2 level or end of cycle engineer in deep learning for the interpretation of geographical data.
The objective of the internship (cf. PJ) is the identification of plot numbers in old plans (Napoleonic cadastre).
Given the small number of annotations available, the objective will be to train detectors on databases of digits of ancient manuscripts and then to carry out learning by transfer and / or adaptation of domain on cadastral data.
The start of the internship is scheduled for spring 2020 with a duration of 5 to 6 months.
It will preferably take place at the GeF laboratory in Le Mans but can possibly take place at the Cnam Paris (3rd arrondissement).
This internship can be continued with a thesis on related topics combining deep learning and geographic data.

Within the Center for Research and Education of Environmental Geosciences (CEREGE), we offer a student, during his internship at the end of his master's or engineering studies, to develop a neural network making it possible to characterize the sediment flow (mass per unit of time) transported in a stream from the sound pressure generated by the latter and measured by hydrophones.
CEREGE is a Mixed Research Unit (UMR 34) supervised by Aix-Marseille University (AMU), CNRS (UMR 7330), IRD (UMR 161), the Collège de France and INRA (UMR 1410).
Its premises are located on the environmental technopole Arbois-Méditerranée, located on the small Plateau de l'Arbois (Aix-en-Provence, Les Milles).
CEREGE is developing research in the disciplines of earth and environmental sciences.
This research concerns paleoclimatology and paleoceanography, geodynamics and associated fluids, soil dynamics, water and waste, morphogenesis and natural hazards, planetology and surface geophysics, the evolution of tropical soils, and water resources in the Mediterranean area. context
Skills Deep learning, neural network,
python, Jupyter, Linux
