  • Search: The recruited Professor will strengthen the EKINOCS team (comprising 12 members working on machine learning, knowledge integration, data visualization and optimization methods) in the field of machine learning. The questions studied relate to life sciences, environmental sciences and agronomy in the context of academic and/or industrial projects (ANR, Cifre, etc.). For example: questions on the environment (eg monitoring and interpretation of time series of satellite images, analysis of images by drones), real-time monitoring of supply chains or complex systems (early detection and automatic classification of anomalies and online decision-making), analysis of transformation processes, nutrition (research of the determinants of eating behaviors and design of a personalized digital coach to modify sustainable user choices), analysis of biotopes related to health, etc. These questions are all stimulating to develop new methods and techniques of machine learning.


  • Teaching: The recruited Pr will be responsible for designing and delivering courses in all of AgroParisTech's IT-related training courses, which may include courses using digital technologies.


  • The courses to be able to take charge are at the level of the engineering cycle and in master's degree:


  • • In the first year: in the common core: algorithmics, programming, databases, and in the EU optional on particular computer methods or certain aspects of data science, for example data visualization techniques.


  • • In the second year: in optional UEs both for relevant courses from the MMIP department, but also for other departments.


  • • In the third year, in the majority IODAA which is focused on data sciences and, potentially, in the masters of artificial intelligence and bioinformatics at the University of Paris-Saclay.


  • The Professor may also participate in, and organize, doctoral school modules.


  • Candidate Profile: The Recruited Professor will strengthen EKINOCS. He/she will interact with actors in particular from the world of life sciences, the environment and agronomy. He/she will be required to quickly take charge of thesis / internship supervision, and to develop new collaborative activities through academic and/or industrial structuring projects (ANR, Cifre, etc.). He/she will have the opportunity to participate in the activities of the DataIA Institute of Paris-Saclay University and the chair H@rvest (digital agriculture) and will be able to initiate national or international programs.


  • Training and skills required: The candidate must hold an Habilitation to Supervise Research in Computer Science and more particularly in the field of relevant artificial intelligence of data sciences in order to be able to guide teaching and research in this discipline.

  • At the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Department of Materials and Production a Post. Doc. position is available from **February 2022** or soon thereafter.


  • The Post.Doc. is part of a strategic effort in the area of Deep Learning and Computer Vision to strengthen the activities in the Robotics & Automation Group. The position includes both research and teaching in these domains. The position will be an integral part of the project Predictive Automatic Corrosion Management – PACMAN, which has the overall objective of developing and empirically demonstrating the use of predictive corrosion management in the offshore sector. This objective is pursued through developing and demonstrating state-of-the-art Deep Learning and predictive AI algorithms on image/video datasets acquired from real-world applications and later tested again in real-world applications.


  • In this context, the candidate is expected to perform fundamental and applied research in Deep Learning and computer vision techniques towards real-world applications where image segmentation is a central component. The position builds on continuous contact and collaboration with industrial partners, and the overall aim of the research effort is to develop novel predictive and classification methods, which can support the specific use case in the PACMAN project, and furthermore, support long-term research activities within AI for robotics and manufacturing. The position is for *2 years* with the possibility of extending the position for multiple years

The research potential of each applicant will be emphasized in the overall assessment. Appointment as a Post.Doc. cannot exceed a period of four years in total at Aalborg University.
